Dhruv has a degree in law from Delhi University and is enrolled with the Bar Council of Delhi. He is also a qualified Chartered Accountant.
Dhruv is known for his specialisation and extensive experience in representing clients in trade remedy cases like anti-dumping, countervailing duty and safeguards during the investigation phase and subsequently in Courts and WTO proceedings. He has represented multinationals, Indian companies, industry associations and government authorities in more than 200 anti-dumping, countervailing duty and safeguard investigations conducted by investigating authorities of India, EU, US, China, Canada, Turkey, Australia, Russia, South Africa etc. He has represented Government of India in several countervailing duty investigations conducted by EU, US, Canada, Mexico etc. He has represented MOFCOM, Government of China in several transitional product specific safeguard investigations and countervailing duty investigations conducted by India. He has also represented domestic industry of India in anti-dumping, countervailing duty and safeguard investigations conducted by India.
He has advised clients and handled litigation on a wide range of customs and indirect tax issues like customs valuation, customs classification, export controls, free trade agreements, foreign trade policy, export incentives, country of origin, anti-profiteering etc. He has represented and advised companies on several product standards imposed by Government of India.
He has also worked in a European Law Firm based in Paris where he advised multinational companies facing Customs and VAT issues in EU.
He has represented clients across a wide variety of sectors such as metals, chemicals, textiles, pharmaceuticals, automobiles etc. and has in-depth experience in providing best legal solution to clients considering their business and commercial realities.
He has authored several articles in the area of trade remedy laws. Prior to joining PDS Legal, Dhruv was a partner in Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan Attorneys.
